Sensitivity of Multiphase Meters to changes in PVT data
Multiphase meters (MPFMs) rely on accurate input of PVT data and other fluid parameters in order to achieve the specifications given by the vendors. Accurate input parameters may be a challenge in many installations, especially for fields with gas lift or water injection.
Understanding the challenge related to accurate input parameters has become more important the last years as MPFMs are increasingly being used fiscally for allocation purposes.
A MPFM sensitivity analysis method has been developed and implemented by CMR. The method can be used for investigation of how an error in the MPFM input parameters (HC composition, water salinity and permittivity) influences the output parameters from the MPFM. The MPFM sensitivity analysis method has been tested by performing a sensitivity analysis for several selected fields with MPFMs installed, giving the client insight into the potential problems with respect to input parameters.
